Sheep on Footpaths.

To the Editor. Sir,—Mr P. J. Quirk's letter in your issue of Wednesday is very amusing. If rumour is correct he himself is tho owner .of the 1500 or so sheep that were turned loose for three days to destroy footpaths in the district on the west side of Rora street, and if that is true, then to reply to any letter and never refer to the reason it was written, is funny in the extreme. Will Mr Quirk tell us if he was tho owner? That would be much more interesting to the many residents in the Jocality mentioned than his views on, say, signatures versus noms-de-plume, or. what language is most suitable to describe an outrageous violation of civic rights. If signing my name would prove that the sheep were not turned loose, I would cheerfully give it, but meanwhile, I am, etc., PEDESTRIAN.
