Kiritehere-Moeatoa.

A petition is in circulation regarding the urgent necessity of widening the Mangakokopua road for a distance of about three miles. This road .is a connecting link between the Kivitehere Valley and the Pomerangi districts on the road-to Te Kuiti. Although settlers have been here five or six years a part of this road is a threefoot bridle track, without any of the block cuttings being formed. The roads are very bad at present and in some places almost impassable. *■ Bush-felling is proceeding apace and a large area of bush will be felled this season.

The block cutting contracts on the Pomerangi road are in full sowing.

There is an abundance of feed this winter and sheep arid cattle are doing exceptionally well.
