MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TE KUITI—FRIDAY. (Before Major Lusk and Mr F. Sims, J.P's.) THE ONGARUE ROBBERY. At the Magistrate's Court, Te Kuiti, yesterday, John Thomson and Duncan Alex. Mcßae (represented by Mr Finlay), were charged, on the information of the police, with entering the railway station premises at Ongarue with intent to commit crime. The evidence of Constable Owen went to <show that the store room door at the station had been broken open on Sunday, the 3rd of April, and the defendants were found on the platform at the time. Tris was about 5 p.m About 9 p.m. the two men came back again. After watching the men for some time the Constable went on to the platform and both men came rushing out of the store room. He arrested Thomson, who said, "I am a ruined man. This will settle me altogether." He had a look at the door and found it had been burst open again. After locking Thomson up he got a warrant an i arrested Mcßae, who said he knew nothing about it. Thomson, who pleaied guilty, was commVoiwA icx sentence, and Mcßae was committed for trial. Bail vias allowed in two sureties of £l5O each.
