ONGARUE.

Own Correspondent. Thomas Humphreys, aged about .50 years, died suddenly at his camp at the "4-mile," Ohura road, at 4 on Sunday. He was spoken to by a carter named A. Aldridge, at about 4 p.m., and was then apparently in good health and spirits. On Aldridge returning to his camp a few minutes later to borrow some dry clothing, found Humphreys lying on his back outside his whare dead.

Deceased was a highly respected settler, and has been employed, as surfaceman on the main road for a long time, and will be greatly missed. The deceased was a married man with three sons, one in the Ohura and two in Auckland.
