TE KUITI-AWAKINO ROAD
Agitation to Start Work. In connection with the metalling of the Te Kuiti-Awakino road, for which a considerable sum of money appears on the Public Works Estimates, considerable anxiety has been evinced by both settlers and townspeople regarding the delay in starting the work. During the past week many telegrams on the matter have been forwarded to the Minister for Public Works and the Member for the district. The following reply has been received by the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce in response to a telegram to the Minister: —"I have to acknowledge receipt of your wire regarding issue of authority for expenditure of money on metalling of Te Kuiti-Awakino road, and have forwarded same to Department for attention. —R. McKENZIE."
