TE KUITI SPORTS.
A meeting of the committee of the Te Kuiti Sports Club was held in the Chronicle Office on Thursday evening. Mr N. C. Matthew presided, and there was a good attendance.
With reference to the matter of having a championship chop allotted to Te Kuiti for the season 1911, Mr Hitchcock proposed, and Mr Pitcon sceonded a resolution that immediate application be made to the New Zealand Axemen's Association for the 18inch standing championship. In connection with the forthcoming meeting it was decided that subscription lists be circulated by the secretaries.
The secretary was instructed to make application to the Domain Board for the use of the Domain on March 2nd, and the right to charge for admission. The secretary was also instructed to obtain quotations for the services of a Band for the day. The following special prizes have already been donated to the sports:— Messrs Barraud and Abraham, £2 2s; Blackman and Cobb, trophy for naildriving competition; Mr Young 10s 6d; Mr, Tinkler, trophy; Mr Jane, trophy valued at 355, for married women's race.
Mr Fitzpatrick's services as the financial secretary were accepted with thanks, and Messrs Trinnear and Fitzpatrick were appointed to sign cheques for the Club.
It was resolved to hold the next meeting at the Chronicle Office on Friday ' evening, January 21st, at 7.30 o'clock.
