TE AWAMUTU.

Own Correspondent.

The Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland (Rev. Dr. Lcoiban) opened the new Te Awamutu Catholic Church last Sunday week. The weather was fine and large congregations assembled. The BishoD preached an eloquent sermon, thanking the architect and the builder for the faithful way they bad carried out their duties. The collections amounted to £6B 10s.

It appears that the telephone line between Te Awamutu and Hamilton has paid handsomely, showing a surplus of £26 19s without subsidy. As the wire has proved selfsupporting the bond has been cancelled which was entered into at the time the tine was opened.
