Claiming Their Rights. A largely signed petition to the Minister for Railways asking for a verandah to be cncted over the railway platform at our station is being presented. This is a convenience of vast importance to the increasing number of travellers who make use of this growing centre. Mr G. H. White, who has the petition in hand, obtained 500 signatures in two days. Football. On Saturday last Waipa avenged their defeat at the hands of the Hamilton reps a wrek or two ago in a convincing mann<rr. Although the game was fast and vigorous there was an absence of roughness. As the score? show, 17 to nil, Wiaipa had rather the best of the game. Waipa has played consistently in their three rep. matches this season. A meeting with the Maniapoto rens would provide an interesting match. There is still time to arrange a match and this would provide more than'ordinary interest.
