OTOROHANGA DOMAIN.

Otorohanga residents have been endeavouring to obtain some assistance from the Government in the matter of improving the Domain. Mr Jennings, member for the district, through whom the application was forwarded has received the following lette- from the Hon. J. Carroll on the subject:— "Dear Sir, —Referring to your recent letter on the subject of a domain at Otorohanga, I have to inform you that I am now advised by the Hon. the Act-ing-Minister of Lands, that a lump sum has been entered upon the Lands Department's estimates for helping in the fencing of and clearing recreation grounds and domains which have been newlycreated, and when the appropriations are being made by Parliament an endeavour will be made to make a grant to Otorohanga as asked by you."
