"THE MYSTERIOUS AIRSHIP."
Te Awamutu Correspondent. Queen Dido was responsible for only a moderate attendance at the entertainment in aid of St. John's church on Wednesday. The audience, although small, was an enthusiastic one, and applauded everything with immense vigor. The first portion of the programme of songs, and tableaux was enjoyable. Miss Bern of Hamilton, sang "Tonight" and "The Last Muster" very pleasingly, and had to respond 1o an encore for her first song. A pianoforte duet by Messrs V. and R. Ricket was rendered nicely, as was a vocal duet by Mesdames Andrew and Hen derson; a violin duet by Messrs Randrup and Moeller. A farce, entitled "The Mysterious Airship" brought the musical portion of the programme to a conclusion.
The author of the farce with becoming modesty hid his or her identity under the nom de plume of "Tentonicus." The audience was in a hilarious mood, and gave the "artists" unstinted applause, and seemed to enjoy the humour of the situation.
