ACCIDENT AT TE KUITI.

i An unfortunate accident happened I to Mr Smitt, Road Overseer, of Aria, 'on Wednesday night. Mr Smitt arJ rived at Te Kuiti from Aria in the ! evening and proceeded to put his horse | in the stable at Mr E. Kerr's boarding j bouse.

As he was entering the stable Mr 1 Smitt received a kick on the leg from | a draught horse,the impact being suffii cient to fracture the small bone of the j leg below the knee. The patient was ■ immediately attended by Dr Fullerton, j and is progressing satisfactorily ! though it will be some time before he ; is able to get about.
