MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION.

A meeting of the above Union was held in Mr Fox's rooms on Monday evening last. It was resolved that a Maniapoto team play a game against a combined team picked from Messrs Green and Colebrook's men and the Railway Staff, on Thursday—today—--6d admission to be charged. The secretary was instructed to wire to the Secretary of the N.Z.R.U. obj jecting strongly to the inclusion of the j Maniapoto Union in the boundaries of ! and under the jurisdiction of the | South Auckland Union. ! The secretary was also instructed to obtain permission from the Auckland Rugby Union, to play a match at Taumarunui on the 28th inst. Mr N. B. Lusk was appointed referee for Thursday's match, and H. Rothery was appointed selector. A meeting was held in Mr Falwasser's office last evening, Mr Young, president, being in the chair. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and adopted. Correspondence: A letter was received from the Secretary of the King Country Union, asking for a match, King Country Juniors v. Maniapoto Juniors on September 4th. It was decided that subject to the permission of the Auckland Rugby Union being granted, thn match be played on the date mentioned, as a curtailn raiser to the Auckland rep. match. A letter was received from the Auckland referee's Association stating that Mr G. Katterns would be sent to referee for the Nehenehenui —Mokauiti match on Saturday next. The Secretary of the Kawhia Football Club asked for a match with the Maniapoto team on September 11th.—this date was accepted. A letter was received from Mr G. Elliott resigning from the Union. Accepted. A letter was received from Mr G. H. Poutawera, in connection with the Nehe —Mokauiti protest.—lt was resolved that the whole matter in connection with the Nehenehenui Mokauiti protest be placed before the Auckland Rugby Union for their ruling. Comment was made upon a letter recenty published in the "Chronicle." signed by Mr S. Moore, in which ref- i erence was made to the Ur.ion'p secretary, Mr Gresham.
