MANGAPEHI.
Ov;n Correspondent.
The tender of Mr Evans, of Auckland, has b?cn accepted for the construction of the nc.v school building. Mr Evans and his brother have already made a start, and havt= the foundation well in hand. The building, according to contract, must be completed within two months, so that school duties may be expected to be transferred to it about the beginning of October.
Football is just about at a standstill at present, enthusiasm having lapsed chiefly owing to the lack of a ground to practice on. Parekura sends us word that they are getting together a team to play Te Kuiti at an early date. The personnel of the team is not yet known, but it is understood that three or four of the Mangapehi players w.'d be asked to play for Parekura. The Parekura players last week easily defeated the Tiroa team.
