P., informs us that the telegraphed statement that he had written to Te Kuiti people informing them he was in sympathy with their agitation to have the licensing laws so altered that houses for the sale of liquor might be established in portions of the King Country now barred, was inaccurate, inasmuch as the stand he had adhered to for some years is that the King Country people should be treated the same as other parts of the Dominion, by being allowed a local option vote.— Waitara Mail.
