THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.
At a meeting of delegates at tite various branches of the Farmers Lnfon, held at Papakura on Wednesday evening, Mr J. Flanagan, Drtiry. presiding, the proposed dairy regulations were discussed, and the following resolutions carried: — Clause 6: "As these regulations are introduced in the interests of the whole ; Dominion, a special tax should not be levied on the dairyman, and therefore : there should be no fee for registra- j tion." Yarding of Cows: "That this meeting considers subsection F, of Clause 8, unnecessary. The yarding of all cows at one time should not be required." Cooling Mlik: "That where milk or cream is supplied to a factory subclauses B and C are unnecessary." Inspection : "That in the opinion of this meeting the cost of administering these regulations will far exceed any benefits conferred. The Government should, therefore, be urged not to en iorce barrassing inspection, but to assist dairymen in the way of educating them in the best way to improve the industry." A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr F. W. Lang, M.P., who was present, and rendered valuable assistance in the deliberations.
