In connection with the petition from the Ohura settlers asking that the river j should be snagged from Matiere to l'okirima. the Minister for Lands replied that Messrs Tolmc and Bullard agree that the snagging would be expensive, and would give no appreciative result | because the Ohura fails would prevent any launch getting ritrht through to the Wanganui river.
