MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION.
Annual Meeting.
The annual meeting of the Maniapoto Rugby Union was held in Mr Kerr's Commercial Room, Te Kuiti, on Tuesday evening There was a good attendance and Mr N. B. Lusk was voted to the chair. The report and balance sheet were presented by the Secretary, Mr E. A. Power, the finances being shown to be in a satisfactory condition.
The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron -Mr J. T. Hetet. President-—Mr J. B. Young. Vice-presidents—Messrs H. Hetet, N. C. Matthew, Whare Hotu, J. Gray and G. Elliott. Secretary—Mr A. S. Gresham.
A meeting of the management committee was held after the annual meeting, Mr Young, president, being in the chair. The various clubs were represented as follows: — Messrs Moore, Nehinehinui; Cotter and Gresham, Te Kuiti; Reardon, Piopio. It was decided that Hira Poutawcra was not clegiblc for a scat on the committee.
It was decided to start the season on May Bth, the club fixtures to be drawn on Tuesday next. May 4 th. With a view to arranging representative matches the secretary was instructed to write to Hamilton and Olorubanga clubs. It was resolved that no club be allowed to take part in club matches till the Union subscription is paid. Mr N. B. Lusk was appointed sole selector, and Messrs Moorhousc, Finlay, Lusk, Elliott, Matthew, and Steel referees for the ensuing season.
