STOCK SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as fol lows :

We held our monthly sale at Cambridge on Friday. 16th inst., when we yarded 106 head of fat cattle, 540 stores, also sheep and pigs. The beef was required by Paeroa and local botchers, and all sold. There was a good demand for store cattle of all classes. Calves sold exceptionally well, and the whole yarding practically changed bands at most satisfactory prices. Fat steers made from X? as to £7 17s 6d: fat cows £4 12s to £5 10S; lighter weights £3 15s to £4 2s 6d; 2 to 24 year steers £3 2s 6d: 20 month to 2 year steers £2 lls to £2 18s; 18 month do.. £2 Ps to £2 8s; store cows £2 Is to £2 17s according to condition; boit calves 23s to 295; others 16s to IPs; sheep fat wethers lis 9d to 15s; lambs ?s 6d; pigs—*tips Ms 3d; well grown wcaners 9s to lis.

At Ohaupo on Tuesday wc yarded 550 bead of cattle. Sixty grown steers offered and sold readily, as also did empty store and fresh conditioned cow* bat medium aged steers were not wanted. Grown steers made from £4 19s to £5 12s; empty cows in fresh condition £2 15s to £3 7s; store cows £1 15s to £2 4s; 13 month heifers 355: cows and calves £3 15s; fat cows up to £5 ss; calves 21s 6d to 37s 6d; dairy cows £3 17s 6d to £4 15s; a small line of 2 and 4 tooth store wethers 10s Od.

We held our Autumn horse fair at Ohaupo on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and in three days offered 670 horses, via., 108 unbroken colts and fillies, 217 draught horses, 273 light harness horses and hacks. There was a large attendance of the public each day, and the unbroken stock and light horses sold equal to, if not better, than last spring sales. But draughts were rather dull of sale and prices low, and a good number passed in. Altogether 520 horses changed bands, and this was one of the best sales ever held at Ohaupo. Unbroken medium colts 3 years old made £ls 5s to £2O 10s; coaching stamp £9 to £l2; light sorts £7 2s6d to £11; ponies 15s to £3; broken draughts from Manawatu up to £35 10s; from local vendors £2O to £24 10s; plough and waggon horses £l4 to £l9; buggy horses £ls to £l9 10s; upstanding backs and hunters £22 to £35; useful hacks and stock horses £ll 10s to £l7; good cob* £8 53 to £l3; ponies £3 to £6.

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report as follows:

At Hamilton on 22nd inst., we had a yarding of 1163 sheep, 20 pigs, and 310 store cattle. Sheep sold at late rates, fat and store cattle were lower. Fat wethers small lis 6d to 16s; for really good fat ewes 9s to 13s 3d; for extra heavy fat lambs 9s tolH6d; aged ewes in lamb 7s 6d; good framed full mouth ewes in lamb 12s lOd; weaner pigs 8s 6d to lis 3d; small fat steers £5 2s 6d to £6 2s6d; the heavier steers did not find buyers fat cows and heifers £4 to £5 3s; 2ft year steers £3 10s to £4 4s; good calves 20s 6d to 275; smaller sorts 16s to 19s ; forward and old fat cows £2 16s to £3 6s; cows and heifers forward in calf £4 5s to £6 10s.

At Morrinsville on 23rd inst, we yarded 1041 sheep. 85 cattle and 127 store cattle and a few pigs. Small fat wethers 12s 6d; heavy wetbers 15s;fat ewes 10s to 12s; fat lambs Us 3d; fat and forward big framed wetbers lis 6d to 13s; store wethers lOs 2d; forcard woolly lambs 9s to 10s 2d; smaller sorts 7s to 8s; weaner pigs 10s to J4s 6d; slips 19s; heavy fat steers £8 10s to £8 17s 6d; small fat steers £6 6s to £6 10s; well fattened cows and bcifrs £5 to £5 7s 6d; lighter 6s to £1 10s; 18 month heifers 335; fair calves 19s dairy cows in milk £5 10s to £6 10s;,
