Sir, It may interest some of th< residents here to know that the grea southern range of mountains which in elude Mount Kuapehu, Tongariro, Nga ruhoe and two others can be seen on t clear day from the summits of the highest bills on Mrs Ellison's Estate, "Bonnie Glen.*' 1 counted today sever snowclad peaks standing out cleai against the sky and looking in a direction nearly due south by east. In fact one of the peaks can be seen from the private path, some four chain 1 from the gate on the Mangaorino Road, and facing the same point of the compass. -I am. etc., S.
