KAWHIA.

A largely attended meeting of the Kawhia Railway League was held in Scott'* ball on Saturday evening last. Jt w*» decided to communicate with other Railway Leagues interested in a railway to connect Kawhia with the Main Trunk tine, and with the Town Boards at Te Koiti and other places asking them to co-operate in urging on the trial survey promised by the Government,
A meeting was held the same evening to consider a proposal for erecting sole yards at Awaroa. A number of 9fc*x*swere taken and a provisional dJsactory was formed to start a eoa> ns*y and arrange details. At another meeting a committee wan elected to attend to decorations, aad to make ail arrangements for the reception of the Governor when he visits here on the 4th May. The weather has been very unsettled and showery lately, but seems to have sat m fine again.
