NEW MAIL SERVICE.

The Australian Postmaster-General has received from the London poathave been made for a regular mail service via San Francisco, Papeete, Wellington and Sydney The s.s. Mariposa, which was formerly in the 'Frisco mail service between San Francisco and Auckland, now runs between Sin Francisco and Papeete, Tahiti. She will connect with the steamers cjf the Union Company at Papeete, and the latter will bring on the mails to Australia and New Zealand. Owing to the recent irregularity of the service from San Francisco by the Australian mail line the new service will be used for corresponding via San Francisco. Mails via this service will' be doe in Sydney from 41 to 45 days after their dispauh from London.
