NEW ZEALAND'S GIFT.
Te Kuiti Message. At the conclusion of the Fire Brigade meeting on Friday evening the chairman, Mr J. Boddie, in referring to the offer of Sir Joseph Ward and,hi» colleagues, on behalf of Hew Zealand, of a Dreadnought to the Mother Count try, said he thought the meeting should take advantage of the opportunity and send a message of appreciation to the Premier. He moved that this meeting convey to Sir Joseph Ward their appreciation of the offer and heartily approves of the action of the Government. The motion was seconded by Mr Sims and carried unanimously. The telegram was forwarded to the Prime Minister on Saturday, and the follwoing reply was received:—
"Desire to heartily thank you for telegram of 21st inst. conveying resolution passed at public meeting, Te Kuiti, with reference to offer of baUVt: ship to British Navy. It is highly gratifying to me, as head of the Govermnnt, to have the approval of your community.—J. G. Ward."
