CRICKET.

The Te Kuiti Cricketers journeyed to Taumarunui on Friday last to meet the local team on their own ground. Some difficulty wsw experienced in getting the netesary number of players to make the journey, and only seven of the Te Kuiti men put in an appearance. However, the Taumarunui Club kindly provided the necesary piayers to complete the team, and two enjoyable games were played. In the first game Te Kuiti players showed excellent form, and ran up the respectable fotat of 180. the chief scorers being Wallace 36. Fortcscue 30. and Bttrd "it. The local players ran up Tt runs, the destructive agent with the ball being Fortesue. who captured & wickets for 3t> runs.

fn the second game Taumarunui showed much better form and piled up .22 runs before the last wicket fell. iVtcKenzie making the score of 52. Wallace and Fortescue divided bowling honours. Te Kuiti responded with 122. of which Steel 21. Francis 22. and Wallace 2t were the chief contributors.
