CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDiTGK. Sir, -Though many things have been promoted for the amusement and betterment of the people of Te Kuiti, there has been one matter overlooked, j which It seems to roe would fill the bill (viz., amusement and betterment), and ! that is a place where one could enjoy a good swim. Though we are not far enough advanced ta, Jigve municipal 1 baths, there is nothing to prevent us j having a part of Iho Mangaokewa j cleaned out and boarded in to give it i that seclusion which is 1 deemed necess- j ary. With a good stretch of water, of j the necessary depth, there would soon be aquatic sports; swimming would | become popular, and what morehealth- : ful exercise? Sir. should not the Coun;ty Council be waited on by some of our inuflcntial citizens, for permission i to act as above, or would it be better to call a public meeting to discuss 1 ways and means? -I am, etc.. JOHN TAMMADGE, To Kuiti, 9th February, 1909.
