TE AWAMUTU.
(Own Correspondent)
The Annual Ball in connection with local M.U., 1.0.0. F. was held last •Friday evening, September 11th, in the Town Hall, and the result of the labours of the committee was highly commendable. The hall was most beautifully draped with evergreens and bunting, and the effect was very striking when the grand march was under full swing at 8.30 p.m. The dresses worn by the ladies were displayed to perfection, and would have done credit to any city function. The success of the evening was considerably enhanced by the orchestra, which consisted of some eight performers, and reflected credit on the Te Awamutu Musical Society, of which the orchestra forms part The programme of some twenty dances and extras, carried the dancers well into Saturday morning, and on every hand the lodge and committee w T ere complimented on the success of the ball. * The caterng arrangements •were in capable hands and, Mr A. M. Noble of Te Awamutu, deserves great praise for placing such a repast on the banqueting tables.
