OHURA VALLEY.
(Own Correspondent.) The first annual report and balance sheet of the Ohura Co-operative Dairy Factory Company Limited, Nino Niho, sets forth that suppliers received the fairly result of 7|d for their butter'pf??:. An increased supply, which means a lower cost of manufacture, is anticipated for the coming season. The total amount of milk received was and cream 51,3331b5. The test was 3.64, and the average overrun 5.79. Arrangements had been entered into for the erection of a skimming station at Mangapapa, which would be ready for the coming season. South of Mangapapa a large number of small settlers at Tatu were now in a position to milk, and it was expected
that a creamery would be erected in that district at an early date. The committee of*the Ohura Settlers' Association met at Mangaroa on the 22nd of August. The Chairman, Mr Loveday, explained the position as regards County matters, that so far he had every hope to have the Bill through the House this Session, unless some unforseen opposition was met with. Correspondence was received from the Minister of Roads promising consideration to the various items of the road works asked for by the Association; from Mr Julian, Road Engineer, giving his cordial assistance in having the various items of the road work placed on the estimates, and from the Commissioner of Crown Lands agreeing with the necessity of having more sections surveyed and sold in the various townships, but regretting that owing to the amount of work in hand his inability to detach a surveyor for the purpose. Mangaroa is to prove a second edition of fleet week in producing a grand fancy ball to eclipse the universe.
