OTOROHANGA POLICE COURT.

On August 7th, 1908, a young Maori named Tei Wipa was charged on the information of the Police, before Win. Vicary and C. J. Johnson, J's.P., that between the 6th and 7th day of August he did steal, at Otorohanga, the sum J of one pound from Nikora Hauparoa. Accused . pleaded not guilty. After hearing evidence for the prosecution, and accused not giving any evidence for the defence, Wipa was convicted r and fined one pound and costs £1 14s, or in default, two weeks' imprisonment. The one pound found on accused was ordered to be returned to the complainant.
