HOCKEY.
Tc Kuiti v. Taumarunui.
On Thursday last Te Kuiti received another friendly visit by the members of the Taumarunui hockey team, who met and defeated the local players by one goal to nil. The weather was favourable and a large number of spectators assembled to witness the game. Play was fast throughout, and the game, which was contested in a most friendly manner, proved thoroughly enjoyable. One or two minor accidents occurred dur'ing the game, Smith (Taumarunui) and Gresham (Te Kuiti) being the sufferers, but nothing serious resulted. Mr Beattie acted as referee and gave general satisfaction.
