OPPOSITION LEADER.
Mr Massey delivered an address at Taumarunui on Thursday evening of last week. The speaker was well received, and the speech was on the same lines as that delivered at Te Kuiti the previous evening. Mr Massey was frequently applauded and at the conclusion of the address was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mr Wilson, seconded by Mr Kenderdine, and an amendment of no confidence, moved by Mr Kiel, was lost.
Messrs Massey and Lang were later entertained at supper, when about fifty ladies and gentlemen were present, Mr A. G. Kenderdine presiding. A number of toasts were proposed and honoured, and several of the company rendered songs.
