- The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows : At Hamilton on Thursday we yarded 600 head of cattle. The beef pens contained 160 steers, heifers and cows, this number being far ahead of requirements. Good quality soM fairly well, but a number of pens of paftly finished cat+le were passed. Best' bullocks made_ up to £8 15s. lighter weights £7 2s 6d, young cows and heifers £5 2s 6d to £6 Is, 29 cows from Te Puke realised £4 9s to £5 Bs, 18-month to 2-year steers were in demand and sold at from £2 13s to £3 Is, 15-month steers £2 2s 6d to £2 3s, best calves 23s to 245, smaller sorts 13s 6d to 16s 6d. Sheep.—2so lambs and sheep were penned and elicited good competition. Fat ewes made 16s 6d to iSs, lambs 9s 9d to _l2s 6d. Pigs.—Weaners 6s 6d to Bs, slips 12s 6d to 14s 9d. The Fa;TtiP*s' Cooperative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports as follows : At our Ohaupo sheep fair 011 Wednesday, we yarded 13000 sheep. There was good competition for lambs, and these advanced about 2s a head from previous fairs. A few iines of 6-tooth ewes made from 15s 4d l to 17s 6d, but the balance of entry, conditioned ewes in lamb, 'p.-nd small framejl wethers, sjio-ved no 3$ 6fl'p; : evjbu-? sales; and business Was not bruk, Fat lambs 12s to 14s 6d, forward lambs 9s to lis, cull lambs 5 s to 7 s 6d, good ewes in lamb 14s to 20;-, aged ewes 8s to 12s, small store wethers lis 2d to I2s 6d, better conditioned wethers small framed 13s 6d to 14s 6ci.
