ACCIDENT AT MAIROA.

Girl thrown from a horse.

An unfortunate accident occurred at Mairoa on Wednesday February sth, resulting in somewhat severe injuries to a young girl. Katie Main, daughter of Mr A. T. Main, was thrown off a horse and dragged for some distance. At first it was thought the unfortunate girl was very seriously injured. Doctor Zobel of Te Kuiti, was sent for, and drove out to Mairoa immediately. Medical examination disclosed the fact that very severe bruises and abrasions'had been received by the girl, but it is thought no internal injuries have been sustained. Naturally the patient is suffering considerably from shock but it is hoped that with care and rest a good recovery will be made in a short time.
