STOCK SALES.
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report as follows : At Hamilton last Thursday we yarded 400 head of cattle. There was a good attendance and ruling prices were maintained. Fa| steers made £7 10s to £8 17s 6d ; fat and forward cows, £4 9s to'£4 15s ; forward 3 and 3%-year steers, £5 17s ; 2\i year steers £4 lbs i 12 to 15-mohths steers, £2 6s to £2 16s ; choice steers calves, 34s ; others, 16s to 18s ; 18-months and 2year heifers, 37s 6d to £2 13 6d ; fat ewes, 16s forward ewes, 13s 6d; lambs 10s 6d pigs, slips, 16s 9d to 22s weaners, 5s 6d to 14. We held a clearing sale at Mr Coe's farm on Friday last. Although there was not a large attendance, everything" sold readily. 40 6-tooth ewes made 15s 6d ; full-mouth ewes, 14s 6d forward lambs lOs ; forward wethers, 14s 9d 18 month and two year steers, £3 15s ; yearling's, £2 8s ; 12 to 18 months heifers 28s to 31s manure drill, £l6 lOs. Implements and sundries made usual pi-ices.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows : On Friday at Cambridge we yarded 700 head of fat cattle and 1600 sheep and lambs. A large attendance of buyers was present from all parts of the district, Hikutaia, Paeroa and Matamata, and we report a successful sale. One hundred and twenty fat cattle of prime quality yarded in excess of requirements, but all sold before leaving the yards excepting two pens of steers and a pen of cows. The best steers realised from £8 4s to £8 17s 6d lighter weights £6 15s to £7 15s ; fat cow and heifers. £4 15s to £5 7s 6d, aged heavy cows, I 3 Josto£44's! fresh conditioned cows £2 14s to £3 IOs; store cow, £l I2s 6d to £l I2s to £2 ss; yearlings to 18-steers, £2 6s to £2 14s ; mixed yearlings, £1 15s to £2 4s. This season's calves offered in large numbers. All those well-grown sold at from 19s 6d to £l 5s ; smaller sorts, 12s 6d to 16s 6d ; empty 18-months heifers, £1 15s to£i 18s. The sheep sold readily. Fat and forward lambs, 10s Id ; store lambs, 8s ; full- mouthed ewes, 12s 6d to 14s; store wethers 14 6d; fat wethers 18s 6d ; fat hoggets (in wool) 18s id ; 300 ewes and lambs, ls* 6d per couple. There was a large entry of pigs, which sold readily, young pigs 12s 6d to 15s? slips, ins to £1 ss: springing h£ife;.s.'£;3 £4 lbs ;18months to '3-year-old bulls, £2 IQs to £4, An acre of land at Cambridge West realised £3O.
