WAIKATO CENTRAL SHOW.

*. Active preparations are now being made in connection with the forthcoming Waikato Central Show at Cambridge, the dates for which have been fixed for March 4th and sth. The schedule of prizes and regulations has been issued, and it is gratifying to notice a substantial increase in prize money, which aggregates £BSO. The programme is most comprehensive, and the executive justly claim f>r it the distinction of being one of the most up-to-date in the Province. Increased prize money is offered for weight-carrying hacks, carriage horses and pairs, entires and draught horses, and, in addition, a fifteen guinea cup and two gold medals are offered for champion hacks and hunters, The catalogue contains thirty additional classes for draught horses, dairy cattle and home industries, and the testing of dairy herds for value results, is a feature of the programme, and has been well provided for. The Waikato Central Agricultural Association has now been in existence for about five years, and it says much for the popularity and progressiveness of the Cambridge fixture that the executive has been able to increase prizes, and enlarge the I classes year by year, until the fifth annual fixture is being promoted on more liberal lines than was expected by the most sanguine of its advocates.
