Wednesday, August 29T11, 1917. (Before Mr H. W. Northcroft, S.M.) Ormshy v. Chestnut : -Judgment was given in this case for the plaintiff for the amount claimed (£3 10s), and £5 9s costs. Mr Mine appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Franklin for the defendant. Van Dam y. Thompson : -Claim £6 for work done. -Judgment was given for plaintiff, with lbs costs. a cask ok suspicion. In the case against a man named Thompson (defended by Mr Hine) whom the police suspected of bringing liquor to Te Kuiti for sale, and which was adjourned from last Court day, the defendant produced a statement of his earnings and expenditure for ,!he past three months. After hearing further evidence from defendant His Worship decided that according to the evidence adduced, there was a doubt, of which the defendant should have the benefit. The information was therefore dismissed.
