PUBLIC HALL FOR TE KUITI.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I noticed in your last issue " Lady Resident " was holding forth about the necessity of having a public hall for Te Kuiti. Is this a case of '• two for herself," or is she really in earnest over the matter. Perhaps " Lady Resident " has lived a single life up till now and thinks by the erection of a large and commodious hall there would be lots of entertainments going on, and thereby have a better chance of meeting an 'eligible husband. But putting joking on one side, surely someone ought to wake up to this glaring necessity and start the " ball a rolling." Of course, I understand, there are a few obstacles in the way, but none of them are so very great that they could not be overcome. I also see by your last issue that a meeting is convened for Saturday night for the purpose of discussing a Town Board, and I think that this would be a splendid opportunity to bring up the above matter. I intended being present to give my views, but unfortunately will not be able to attend.

Hoping that " Lady Resident's " efforts will not be in vain, and that she and her band of workers will, in the near future, have an opportunity of displaying their capabilities.—l am, etc., NEW RESIDENT.
