PROPOSED TE KUITI RACES.

A large and enthusiastic meeting was held in Mr Kerr's commercial room, Te Kuiti, on Monday evening last, when Mr Hardy, convener of the meeting, was voted to the chair. _ A long discussion then ensued relative to the old club's position, and it was finally resolved that Mr Manly be appointed to interview Mr Hariland, Secretary of the Auckland Racing Club, and obtain all the necessary information regarding the holding of an annual race meeting in Te Kuiti, and report to a public meeting to be held on April 15th. A strong committee was elected and the following canvassers were appointed to obtain what support the project was likely to receive from the public: Messrs Hardy, A. D. McCardle, Kerr, Sims, J. Josephs, Lorigan, L. Bayley, Hattaway, J. Smyth, J. Old, Hoffman, J. Ormsby, 11. Hetet and Major Litsk.
