TAUMARUNUI.
The return match between Mangapeehi and Rangaroa Tennis Clubs, took place at the Rangaroa court on Saturday last. Fine weather prevailed, and a most enjoyable day was spent. The visitors, who arrived by train the previous evening, were entertained by the Rev. J. E. Ward, and Mrs Ward, Mr and Mrs' Laird,. Mr and Mrs Mum, and Mr and Mrs Gilbert. The play was interesting throughout, and the Mangapeehi Club finished with a lead of three sets to tyo. It is stated the construction of the road between T» u r naru J l ui and Qhura }s to be proceeded with by the Roads Department at once. This will be of great benefit to a large number of settlers in the locality, and give access to the railway at Taumarunui. The Minister for Lands is expected to reach Taumarunui within the next fortnight.
