CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Having read a paragraph in your issue of the 26th ult., stating that you had been informed by a trustworthy correspondent that the account of the hardships endured- by Mrs J. Old, of Mahoenui, appearing in the Taranaki Herald, was greatly exaggerated, as one of the party who assisted, I wish to emphatically deny that there was any exaggeration on the part of the Taranaki Herald. In fact it was a very mild report, both as regards Mrs Old's hardships, and the state of the roads. Hoping you will find space for this in you interesting paper.—l am, etc., TRUTH. Mahoenui, 9/30/06. [ln connection with the above we published a letter to the same effect in our last issue, and it is apparent that our correspondent in the first instance was wrongly informed. — Editor K.C.C.]
