Army Estimates.

London, March 6 The Commons, in Committee of Supply, passed by large majorities the estimates.providing for 220,000 men in the ordinary army, and 200,000 men on war service; also for increased pay. Brodrick, Secretary for War, announced that an additional gratuity would be given to those who had completed their time and who elected to serve again, besides £5 already given (except for those engaged at higher rates of pay for a year), of 5s a. month after 18 months’ completed additional service at the end of 1901 ox* subsequently.
