LONDON, Sept 24 Earl Clarendon has been appointed Lord Chamberlain in (succession to Hopetoun. SYDNEY, Sept 24 I The Mildura, which left yesterday ! for N.Z., proceeds to Auckland. After coaling there it is believed she will proceed to certain islands in the Pacific and there hoist British flag. One result of conflict between City Council and Govt as to control over harbour properties, about which much was heard during plague outbreak, is that Council have taken action against the Premier and Minister of Works and) Secy, of Darling Harbour for appointment of a Board to fix responsibility of cleansing certain Government property, which is said to be in filthy condition.
