Library Committee.
The monthly meeting of the Library Committee was held on Wednesday evening, Messrs Robertshaw (Chairman), Flower, W. Garrett, Smart and Renner being present. There was very little business to deal with, that transacted relating, chiefly, to financial matters. The Treasurer reported that the balance in hand amounted to £3 odd, but the subscriptions in arrear represented (as usual) a considerable proportion of the year’s revenue from that source. It was agreed that subscribers should be urged to discharge their liabilities to the Library. Accounts were passed for payment, subject to the receipt of subscriptions. The Chairman stated that he had for some time past contemplated getting up an entertainment in aid of the funds of the Library, but owing to local talent being so much ewan-ed in assisting in free entertainments opportunity had not offered of working off a concert Something would, however, have to be done shortly.
