Number of tailoresses recently discharged by Kaiapoi Woollen Factory Company have commenced Cooperative experiment, and have been granted use of St John’s schoolroom. They have set to work to make up quantity of garments which will be disposed of at sale of work to be held shortly.
DUNEDIN, May 18
Bridger, of Thompson & Bridger, hardware importers, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a revolver at bis residence, Caversham Rise,, this morning. Understood act was induced by business worries. He leaves a widow and large family.
