WHITIANGA COMMITTEE MEETS RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN The usual monthly meeting of the Whitianga Patriotic Committee was held on April 4. The chairman, Mr Pooley, offered his resignation. Owing to unforseen circumstances, he had sold his busi - ness, he said, and might be leaving Whitianga any time. Mi’ Pooley thanked the committee for their support and willingness to help and also for their friendliness. Mr Brophy, on behalf of those present said Mr Pooley’s resignation was accepted with keen regret and that he would be missed by everyone, for his splendid work on the patriotic committee. Mr Pooley then retired and Mr Brophy acted as chairman.
