LOSS OF ASSISTANT

OIJINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL MRS <G. A. GALLAGHER RESIGNS The resignation of the county clerk’s clerical assistant, Mrs G. A. Gallagher, was tendered in a letter received by the Ohinemuri County Council at its meeting on Wednesday. The writer stated that the condition of health of her husband, formerly a member of the Air Force, necessitated her retirement from her position in the county office. She expressed •appreciation of the consideration she had always received from the council. A motion was .passed regretting the loss of Mrs Gallagher’s services and expressing appreciation of her capable work on the council’s clerical staff.

Steps to fill the vacanacy caused by the resignation were authorised to be taken by Councillor T. Barrett, in conjunction with the county clerk.
