PAPER COLLECTION
MORE WASTE FOR WHAKATANE CANVASS HELD IN PAEROA A house-to-house collection of waste paper and ru'bbei* was held in paeroa on Saturday when a fair amount of material was brought in to the depot. Organised under the auspices of the Paeroa Patriotic Committee members of the Paeroa Returned Services Association assisted by the Boy Scouts and pupils from Standards 5 and 6 of the Paeroa District High School and using lorries kindly loaned by the Paeroa Borough Council, the Ohinemuri County Council and the Simons Proprietary Ltd., the whole town was soon canvassed.
As a result of the collection it is expected that a full truck of paper will be railed to Whakatane at an early date.
