FOOTPATH WANTED
PETITION TO BOROUGH TRACK WET AND MUDDY Eight residents of Junction road, Mesdames E. A. Hodson, C. P. Oats, L. Jessen, W. R. Oats, M. Neil, Messrs W. D. Sanderson and B. R. Duncan, petitioned Thursday night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council requesting that repairs be carried out to the footpath in their street. They pointed out that at present in wet weather- the footpath became very muddy, taking a week to dry up, much of the mud tramping inside. Mr F. Sparks said he had had a look at the footpath and it certainly .was far from satisfactory.
The Mayor, Mi- Edwin Edwards, said he knew the footpath and it certainly was only a narrow track. It was one of the footpaths which needed attention.-
Mr Sparks pointed out that the residents were not asking for a concrete path. All they wanted was a little shingle to overcome the mud. The matter was referred to the works committee.
