FAREWELL AFTERNOON

FUNCTION AT NETHERTON BOUQUETS FOR THE GUESTS A most enjoyable afternoon was spent in the Netherton Hall on Saturday last in honour of two members l of the Netherton Women’s War Service Auxiliary, Mrs C. Eastwood and Miss E. Morrison. During' the afternoon two competitions were held which were won by Mrs R. Wishnowsky and Miss E. Morrison. A recitation was rendered by Mrs R. Wishnowsky entitled “ The House With Nobody In It,” and was very much appreciated by all. After a dainty afternoon tea Mrs J. Reid on behalf of the Netherton Auxiliary asked Mrs Eastwood, who is leaving shortly for her home overseas, to accept a “V” shaped bouquet beautifully made by Mrs Cheale, which carried with it the best wishes from the members of the Auxiliary for a safe and happy voyage. Miss Pat Eastwood was also presented with a small bouquet.

Mrs Eastwood in replying said that she would miss the auxiliary afternoons very much as she had l enjoyed attending them' all.

Mrs Reid then called upon Miss ,E. Morrison, whose marriage is to take place shortly, to accept a- lovely “V” shaped bouquet made by Mrs J. Gordon, saying that members extended to her best wishes for future happiness. Miss - Morrison replied suitably thanking everyone for the afternoon which she had enjoyed very much. Members were asked to sign a card for Mrs Eastwood.

The afternoon closed with the singing of the National Anthem. Those present were:—Mesdames C. Eastwood, J. Morrison 'Snr., W. Hayes, J. Hayes, 0. Hayes, J. Reid, R. Locke, J. Gordon, L. Crosbie, K. Morrison.
