A RELIGIOUS THOUGHT
HOW CHRIST SPEAKS “ How does Christ speak? He speaks within us in the outraged conscience, in the shame and remorse of moral and spiritual failure, in the ideals which attract us like the stars, in the great words of truth which once fell from His lips, and which still strike home to our souls with undeniable authority and power. He speaks in the wrongs that touch our chivalry, in the causes which call for our help, in the brokenhearted whom we long to heal. He speaks in the desperate longing for a better way of life, and a finer world to live in—a world which calls to us to-day from the very horror and ruin of our war-worn earth, with an appeal to our finer feelings and nobler impulses that cannot be silenced.
