CONSERVATION OF THE SOIL OPINION IN AMERICA . z American bankers and others who lend money to farmers have realised that conservation of soil and water gives good cash returns, says a contributor to Forest and Bard. Farmers who practice conservation methods
can always obtain a far greater loan than those who don’t.
One banker says, “The banker is especially interested in soil conservation because he realises that agricul ture is the very backbone of all industry. Business is always good in the city or two surrounded by a rich agricultural community.”
