SALE AT WAIHOU

LATE RATES MAINTAINED SMALL YARDING RECORDED The Farmers* Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report that at their stock sale held at Waihou on Thursday, a small yarding of fat wethers 1 and hoggets came forward and sold under steady competition realising recent late rates. A small yarding of beef, and a medium yarding of boner cattle was penned. Competition was keen and recent quotations were realised. A large entry of dairy cows and heifers came forward. Competition for good quality heifers close to profit was keen, but small and backward sorts were hard to quit, prices being fully up to recent quotations.

A good yarding of pigs came forward, the entry comprising buttermilk pigs and stores.. Prices for all classes were on a par with recent values.

Quotations:— Sheep.—Fat hoggets, 24s to 27s 6d; fat wethers, 32s to 355.

Cattle.—Beef cows, £5 19s to £7 1.55; heavy boner cows, £4 to £5; medium boners, £3 to £4; light, £1 10s to £2 15s; 2-year Jersey and Jersey-Cross heifers, £2 2s to £3 7s; yearling Jersey and Jersey-Cross heifers, £4 to £5 4s; boner bulls, £5 5s to £5 10s; yearling Jersey bulls, £2 ss; choice Jersey and Jersey-Cross heifers', close to profit, £l3 to £l5 15s; others, £lO to £l2 10s; later calvers, £8 10 s to £9 10s; small and backward, £5 to £7; heifers in milk, £7 10s to £11; Jersey and Jersey-Cross cows, early calvers. £7 10s to £9.

Pigs.—Buttermilk pigs, £2 15s to £3 17s; large stores, £2 10s to £2 14s; smaller, £2 to £2 8s; slips, 30s to 36s 6d; weaners, 20s to 28s 6d; sows to farrow, £2 5s to £4 10s; sows with litters, to £B.
